Bodega Bernabeleva is small winery located on the far western edge of the Viños de Madrid DO. The estate is located in the sub-zone San Martin de Valdeiglesias, which is known for producing the highest quality wines of the DO. Bernabeleva is practicing organic and biodynamic with the winemaker, Marc Isart Pinos, passionately focused on transforming the estate to 100% biodynamics. The wines are fermented in large, upright old wood fermentors with long macerations and use of indigenous yeasts. They rarely leave the Madrid area, typically being absorbed into the vibrant city wine scene.
The Camino de Navaherreros is made from 100% Garnacha grown on the granitic sand of the estate's vineyards. Fermented in stainless steel with 45% whole clusters, this is a serious, high-quality Garnacha epitomizing the heights wines from Madrid can achieve. It is a refined wine with beautiful red fruits and a delicate herbal touch made all the more complex by refined texture and a subtle minerality. Enjoy with roast pig, paella or assorted tapas.
