Bodegas Mauro - Vino Tinto de la Tierra de Castilla y León 'Terreus - Paraje de Cueva Baja'' 2017

The legendary maestro, Mariano Garcia founded Bodegas Mauro in 1980 as an homage to his father, in the historic town of Tudelo, by the River Duero in the province of Valladolid. Mariano García was the first degree-holding winemaker at Vega Sicilia, where his father had always worked and where he himself had been born.

Much credit for Ribera’s rapid ascent goes to Mariano García. Mariano Garcia is a very historical figure in Ribera.  He has been making wine in Ribera since 1968.

A single vineyard wine sourced from the Paraje de Cueva Baja made up of just 3 hectares of old vines planted on very loose soils of clay and sand. Complete character

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I also tasted the 2017 Terreus Paraje de Cueva Baja, which had amazing balance even after only one month after bottling. There is amazing finesse and balance, the oak is beautifully integrated and the wine is floral and terribly pleasant. They did a softer vinification with a shorter maceration, and they used less new oak. It all paid off. This has to be among the finest 2017s from the Duero zone".
