Bodegas Roda - Rioja 'Sela' 2018

Founded in 1987, Bodegas Roda is located in the town of Haro in La Rioja, covering 120 hectares of vineyards, 75ha of which they own. Owners Carmen Daurella and Mario Rotllant arrived in La Rioja with the firm intention of creating a project able to provide the world of winemaking with something new. This is where a fascinating, ambitious, exigent and unprecedented adventure began: Bodegas Roda.

SELA is a young, strong wine, it has lots of things to tell, but with the fresh voice of youth. Coming from sustainable vineyards with average vine age between 15-30 years old. It’s ready to be consumed as soon as it’s released, with a younger aging than its older brothers and with a great bottle aging capacity. An attractive wine to young people that begin to live the passion of the wine world.

"I liked the result of the cold, rainy and challenging vintage, which resulted in the 2018 Sela, a wine with less alcohol, 13.5%, and more freshness, lighter, a little more herbal but to me fresher and with more character and more integrated oak. It's a blend of Tempranillo with 3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano matured in French barrique for 12 months. It is drinking well and is ideal for food and wines by the glass." - 92 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
