Maison Camille Giroud ranks among the most venerable as well as the most dynamic of the boutique négociants in Burgundy.
This wine comes from a vine situated in the locality of Flagey-Echezeaux within the district called Les Chalandins – a neighbor of the lower part of Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. Facing South-East and at an altitude of 245 metres, they are planted in a deep clay-silt soil on marls from Bresse.
This parcel is mostly old vines. Winemaker Carel Voorhuis has used 50% whole bunches, emphasizing the floral and peppery aromas so typical of Vosne. The palate is silky, seductive and chalky, with a salty finish. It’s not a wine of huge power, but rather one of perfume and purity. Drink now to 2027.
