Inspired by Rene Barbier, founder of the “Priorat revolution” and owner of the famous Clos Mogador, the couple Charlotte and Christopher Cannan decided to purchase 10 hectares of abandoned vineyards north of the village of Gratallops, nicknamed \"Les Figueres\". The property was named Clos Figueras after the two old fig trees once present on the property.
