Cornas and Saint-Péray are two villages bordering the northern and southern appellations of the Côtes du Rhône, opposite Valence, on the left bank of the river where the vineyards of Jacques Leménicier thrive.
At an average altitude of 200 meters, he makes four cuvées: One in Cornas, two in Saint-Péray and one in Crozes-Hermitage.
Until fairly recently Lemenecier’s wines were only sold out of his cellar, mostly to private clients and some of the top French restaurants.
The Saint-Péray vineyard, adjoining Cornas and dominated by the Château de Crussol, produces a white wine with a unique character that can be found in the Elegance cuvée, a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne grape varieties in equal parts.
Color is intense straw yellow color with silver reflections. Bouquet is elegant, expressive, floral, notes of fresh fruit with white flesh. On the palate you will taste flavors of peaches, pears and apricots, toasted mouth, long and enveloping finish.
