Domaine des Billards owns five hectares, all in Saint Amour. It’s one of the original Loron wineries and has belonged to the Barbet and Teissier families for more than 200 years.
St-Amour is the most northerly and one of the most recently added Crus in Beaujolais. Legend has it that the village was named after a Roman soldier who converted to Christianity and established a mission in Beaujolais. The wine is bright, berry red with lovely cherry fruit.
This is a top everyday Beaujolais, highly recommended.
