The Viña Tondonia Reserva White is a blend of Viura (90%) and Malvasia (10%). It was aged for 6 years in barrels, being racked twice a year. 2010 is a vintage classified as excellent by the DOC Rioja Board. On that year, it rained very little in comparison to a normal average year. June was very cold and therefore the budding as well as the fecundation were affected, reducing the quantity drastically. The weather conditions during the harvest were perfect and the grapes harvested were of excellent quality that have developed in exceptional wines with a great capability of ageing and very characteristic of a great cold Rioja vintage.
"Complex and evolved nose of candied citrus, fig, burnt orange, walnut, toast, dried tobacco and salted caramel. Medium-to full-bodied with bright acidity. Concentrated, layered and delicious with a nutty and saline finish. Phenolic and structured. Keeps going. Drink now or hold" - James Suckling
