The original heart of Poderi Luigi Einaudi is in Dogliani, on the hills that line the road that leads from Monchiero and Novello to the center of the country, and in the area that leads to Monforte D’Alba and Belvedere Langhe, renowned for its terroir. More than 29 hectares largely devoted to Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, the rest cultivated with Merlot and Barbera.
This wine presents the same basic characteristics of the Dogliani Docg, but it is notable for the extraordinary expressivity and intensity of the perfumes, obtained from the cautious and separate fermentation of grapes of Dolcetto which come from the Village of Dogliani.
A high quality wine which ages well, of deep ruby red with shades of violet with a fresh, rich, fruity bouquet, full bodied with intense fragrances of woodland, pleasantly tannic and a slightly almond final note. The annual production is limited at few thousands bottles.
This Dogliani Superiore is a more serious version of the entry level Dogliani. Shows more aromatic complexity, structure and texture. Highly recommended.
