Roberto Voerzio - Barolo del Comune di La Morra 2016

IN STOCK

The Barolo del Commune di La Morra is a wine made from grapes grown in the La Serra, Fossati, Case Nere and Boiolo vineyards. Roberto leaves each cluster weighing around 1kg instead of the 500g clusters used for the Cru Barolo. Aged for two years in a mix of big and small barrels, light toast, French oak (15, 20, 30 and 35 HL sizes for the big barrels).

This is a great wine and a good introduction to the Barolo's of Roberto Voerzio.

"This is incredibly deep and tight with dried rose petals, cedar and light plums and strawberries on the nose. The palate is refined and firm with precise balance of fruit, tannin and acidity. This is the first vintage. 50% of this comes from Voerzio crus and the rest comes from an area called Boiolo, near Brunate and Rocche dell’Annunziata. Wonderful balance and depth. Drink after 2022." - James Suckling
