Vie di Romans - Flors di Uis Friuli Isonzo 2020

In Friuli Venezia Giulia, most of the best vineyards are located in the southeastern part of the region facing Alpine foothills’ slopes. Here the vines benefit from direct sunlight and a complex climatic intersection of the warm Mediterranean influence of the Adriatic Sea coupled with the cooling breezes from the Julian Alps.

The Flors di Uis Friuli di Vie di Romans was obtained from Malvasia Istriana (55%), Riesling Renano (34%) and Friulano (11%) grapes grown in the Boghis Ciampagnis and Vie di Ramans vineyards located in the municipality of Mariano del Friuli (GO). Here the soils are characterized by abundant skeleton with the presence of a silt-clay fraction of a reddish color due to the presence of iron and aluminum oxides. Alcoholic fermentation took place for 16-24 days at a temperature of 16-19 ° C. The refinement took place for 8 months in steel on the lees. Before being released, the wine rested for a further 10 months in the bottle.

The Flors di Uis by Vie di Romans is presented in the glass of a seductive golden yellow color. The nose is a triumph of aromas of white flowers, lychees and Mediterranean citrus fruits that intertwine with delicate spicy and saline notes. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, supported by a full and fruity taste and a lively mineral freshness that persists in the long finish. At the table it goes well with fresh cheeses, as well as tasty vegetarian dishes and succulent seafood recipes based on fish and shellfish.
