Vie di Romans - Piere Sauvignon Friuli Isonzo 2020

In Friuli Venezia Giulia, most of the best vineyards are located in the southeastern part of the region facing Alpine foothills’ slopes. Here the vines benefit from direct sunlight and a complex climatic intersection of the warm Mediterranean influence of the Adriatic Sea coupled with the cooling breezes from the Julian Alps.

The Sauvignon Piere from Vie di Romans was born from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, daughters of a single vineyard called Piere which rises in the area of Mariano del Friuli (GO), characterized by a soil with a clayey fraction rich in silicon, at an altitude 33 meters above the sea level. Alcoholic fermentation took place for 16 days at a temperature of 16 ° C-19 ° C. Aging took place for 8 months in steel on the lees, an operation that enriched the wine in terms of structure and aromas. Before release, the Sauvignon Piere di Vie di Romans rested for a further 10 months in the bottle.

Tasting notes: The Sauvignon Piere from Vie di Romans is presented in the glass of a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals hints of elderflower and tropical yellow pulp fruit intertwined with penetrating notes of yellow citrus. The sip is full and harmonious, supported by both a pleasant freshness and a good minerality that persists in the finish. At the table it goes well with fresh cheeses, vegetarian dishes and tasty seafood recipes.
