During the day, the sun warms the stony terraces, while at night the fresh, fragrant forest air drifts through the Kamp Valley into the Langenloiser Arena.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"txt\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe terraces of the Kamptal are characterised by their barren primary rock soils (which, on the lower terraces, are covered with loess and loam), and the climate: the vineyards are located at an altitude of between 200 and 300 meters at the crossroads of the Danube valley and Kamptal. Due to the ample daily warmth, the grapes enjoy ripeness and fullness, while the suction effect of the Kamptal during the evening and night brings the cool air from the north - the Waldviertel - down into the the vineyards to preserve the freshness and fruitiness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"txt\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThis Riesling is a blend of wines sourced from different younger, terraced vineyards of our best Kamptal sites. The elevated terraces consist of stonier soils which bring cool, fruit driven wines with mineral nuances and good aging potential. The vines from lower sited terraces grow partly on layered fertile loess and bring earlier maturing wines with more body, which are very expressive in their youth. By combining those two characteristics, we obtain a Riesling that shows great freshness, finesse and a certain vigor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"txt\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe ripe grapes are hand-picked in small boxes and processed very gently with a pneumatic press. Fruity, round and mouthfilling on the palate, this is a medium to full- bodied, very elegant and aromatic dry Riesling characterized by the poor rocky soils (gneiss\/mica schist and perm sandstone) as well as, on the lower terraces, a layer of loess and clay as well, based on the particular climate. The terraced vineyards are located at an altitude of between 200 and 300 meters above sea level at the intersection of the Danube Valley and the Kamptal. The good daytime warming produces ripeness and a certain fullness of the grapes, while the suction effect of the Kamptal moves the cool air of the Waldviertel into the vineyards in the evening and at night, preserving freshness and fruit. The freshest and finest grapes for this assemblage come from the high-altitude vineyards, while the harvest from the lower terraces gives the wine some body. The 2021 is clear, refined and lush, very well balanced and crystalline in its fine and saline acidity that carries this excellent Riesling to a long and remarkably intense and stimulating finish.
