Raventós i Blanc is the story of a family inextricably linked to their land, a winemaking tradition going back over 500 years, proven by ancient documents still held at the estate. The Raventós i Blanc estate, which has belonged to the Raventós family since 1497, covers 300 acres of vineyards, woodlands and a lake in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Following this line of succession, in 1872 Josep Raventós Fatjó made the first bottle-fermented wine in Spain using native grapes from this estate. Raventós i Blanc, the longest, documented viticulture tradition in the world, owned by the same family since 1497.
Raventós i Blanc, loyal to its tradition, make the relationship between human and nature central to the winemaking philosophy. In order to achieve wines of the greatest authenticity and typicity they returned to the traditional method of vine-growing, which was already being used on the estate in 1497: the interaction between the land, microclimate, vines, animals and the people who work in the estate. Their goal is to ensure that their estate is treated with the utmost authenticity and tradition, placing an absolute priority on soils, climate and native grape varieties.
In November 2012, the family decided to leave the DO Cava and create their own more strictly defined and geographically specific appellation: Conca del Riu Anoia. It was born to create wines coming from a single estate, a specific climate, native grape varieties and a rigorous, well-defined and respectful form of viticulture, in other words, a faithful reflection of where the wine comes from; the River Anoia Valley. An estate with the perfect terroir for producing, probably, the most mineral sparkling wine.
Starting from a base of classic varieties, this elegant rosé achieves its personality and color tone with a small percentage of the Monastrell red variety. A delicate and fresh rosé sparkling wine with 18 months of aging.
"After centuries of grape growing and playing a role in the creation of the Cava DO, the Raventós family chose to leave the appellation in 2012 and champion the 'future DO' of Conca del Riu Anoia. Only indigenous varieties are grown and the vineyard is certified biodynamic. Yields were down more than 20% in this drought year but the fruit was very healthy. A little local Monastrell (5%) provides colour and texture, rounded out by 18 months of ageing. Christine Parkinson: Mandarin, vanilla and blood orange. Fresh, vibrant palate: citrus, bitter melon. Acidity provides balance and poise. A lick of tannin supports the creamy texture. Very long. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Subtle, restrained, perfumed. Lightly grippy with a savoury pastry note; lacks the usual sweet fruit. Stylish, gastronomic. Blossoms in the glass. Delicious. Valentin Radosav: Elegant strawberry and red flower aromas. Balanced fruit profile and refreshing acidity.” - 95 Points, Decanter
"De Nit is a beautifully fragrant, refined ros, next to many Penedes styles, made by adding around 5% of crushed Monastrell into the Blanc de Blancs blend of Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada. It brings a tiny amount of fruit-skin grip and red plum onto the fine, salty citrus fruit and seraching length, never trading into obviousness or sweetness. Pure and fine. 2025-2026” - 92 Points, Tim Atkin
"The pale sparkling rosé 2022 De Nit is a blend of 49% Xarel.lo, 34% Macabeo, 12% Parellada and 5% Monastrell that refermented in bottle where it matured with the lees for 18 months. It has a subtle nose and feels very much like a white wine (which it mostly is) with just a copper tint and almost no red fruit aromas and very faint flavors. It has 12.09% alcohol with a pH of 3.01 and 5.9 grams of acidity balanced by 4.5 grams of sugar. It's clean and precise, and the sugar almost unnoticeable, giving it just an approachable touch but never sweet. It's Mediterranean, with notes of esparto grass, a more generous year. 225,000 bottles and other formats produced. It was disgorged in February 2024.” - 92 Points, Wine Advocate
