Garesio - Barolo 'Gianetto' 2016

This Gianetto single vineyard of about 1 hectare is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in Serralunga D’Alba adjacent to the winery. All plots of land here are managed according to farming practices that use no chemical products, and some are certified organic.

Garesio tasting notes: A wine with an intense garnet red color. It has hints of aromatic herbs, flowers and dark pulp fruit, lavender and pepper. It has a great structure and flavor, the tannins are velvety and has a nice acidity, with a persistent and balanced finish.

Food pairing: Suitable with important dishes such as roasts, braised meats, game, stews and with aged and hard cheeses.

Vinonueva notes: This 2016 Gianetto has a very intense red color and perfume. The tannins are very strong and soften with time in the glass. A young Barolo with its best years ahead. 2016 is considered by many the vintage of the century in Piemonte with huge aging potential. Would highly recommend giving this wine a long decanting if you plan to drink now. A wine that you can lay down in the cellar for 5-15 years. Tasted last time on 03/2024 at the Garesio tasting at Vinonueva with owner Giovanna Garesio. The wine with the best aging potential.
