Michel Mallard and sons' vineyard is located in the commune of Ladoix-Serrigny, a small village at the junction between the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Vine growers from father to son for five generations, the vineyard has expanded over time and now cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards. Maryse and Patrick Mallard, at the head of this wine company, take care of this heritage in producing wines in Burgundy, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Chorey-les-Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne appellations.
Whole cluster fermented, aged in 50% new barrels.
"The forward, accessible aroma has elements of plum, spice, and smoke. The texture is rich and surprisingly dense for the appellation, with a velvety feel that is very luxurious. On the finish, the tannin becomes evident. While this should drink reasonably early, it is a wine that will improve with cellaring. It is produced from more than a hectare of south-facing vines planted in clay soils with limestone scree from the combe d’Orange." - 92 Points, Decanter
