As a négociant that focuses on forging durable relationships with some of the best winegrowers on the Côte de Beaune, Olivier Leflaive Frères bottles exemplary AC regional, village, Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. Along the Cote de Beaune -only 16 miles in length- Chardonnay achieves greatness equal to Pinot Noir grown just to the north. Leflaive’s holdings are centered around the villages of Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault with additional holdings throughout the Cote d’Or. Olivier Leflaive’s vocation is not just about making good wine. Maintaining a personalized and convivial relationship with his clients, taking the time to share the richness, diversity and sensitivity of the world of wine through a complete oeno-touristic immersion from vine to glass. The conviviality of enjoying a glass of wine amongst friends led Olivier to open Burgundy’s first table d’hôte enabling him to receive guests and to introduce them to some of the great wines of Burgundy through a tasting accompanied by regional specialties. He then opened a four-star hotel to allow guests to stay longer and to enjoy the full Burgundy experience.
The grapes are grown sustainably in calcareous clay soil. 100% manual harvest. 100% Chardonnay. 100% whole grapes. 24h static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels. 18 months ( 6 months in stainless steel tank) 100% in oak barrels (14% new oak).
“This really sings with bright, lively acidity that gives high notes to the sliced-apple, crushed-stone and white-peach aromas and flavors. Medium body with a tangy, vivid finish. Energetic. Grabs your attention. Drink or hold.” - 92 Points, James Suckling
