Bodegas Ordoñez - Nisia 'Las Suertes' Old Vines 2022

IN STOCK

Codorniz, this town is located in the province of Segovia, in the southeasternmost subzone of D.O. Rueda, which is the highest altitude zone and resisted phylloxera.

100% Verdejo from vines most likely from the late 1880s. The vineyard was planted by one of the viticulturist's, who is 80 years old, grandfather so it is likely that the vineyard was planted before 1900.

While aging varies based on vintage, Las Suertes is always aged on the lees with battonage for a minimum of 7 months in French oak puncheons and demi-muids (500-600 L barrels, respectively).

“The 2022 Verdejo Nisia Old Vines Las Suertes originates from a vineyard known as Las Suertes, planted in 1883 in DO Rueda. It was aged for up to eight months in 500-600-liter oak barrels, 20% new. This yellow-hued wine presents aromas of quince, pear and green apple, with hints of jasmine and oak. Dry and refreshing, the fairly concentrated palate is complemented by an oily texture, creating a deep white wine that lingers long on its fruit notes.” - 93 points, Joaquin Hidalgo Vinous

"Aromas of lemon-lime, peach and orange blossom pave the way for avors of lemon tart, toasted pineapple, fennel pollen, vanilla bean and rose petal. Notes of anise and orange zest endure on the taste buds." - 93 points, Wine Enthusiast
