Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2019

IN STOCK

Having enjoyed an excellent reputation from the beginning of the nineteenth century, Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of only six properties to be classified in both red and white wines in the 1953 Graves classification.

Since its creation in the 18th century, only four families have owned Malartic. The taste for adventure still flows in the veins of the men and women who steer its destiny.

Malartic’s white wines are historically known as great wines for laying down, which develop a complex aromatic palette and superb minerality over the years. Vintage after vintage, they are characterized by balance and elegance. They rank among the jewels of Bordeaux.

Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels – 55% new oak.

Blend of Sauvignon 76% and Sémillon 24%.

James Suckling #32 Top 100 Wines of France 2022. "Aromas of grilled pineapple, clove, lemon peel, lime pith and green mango. White pepper, crushed stones and some cedar, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with bright acidity. Layered and very long. Serious white. Needs time to open and show more Exceptional form here. Drink from 2023." - 97 points, James Suckling

"The 2019 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is a super distinctive white that deftly balances fruit richness with energy, all in the weightless, transparent style that is such a signature here. Orchard fruit, flowers, mint and white pepper pulse with notable energy. The 2019 Blanc is absolutely gorgeous and well worth seeking out. I loved it." - 94 points, Vinous

"Apple, elderflower, white peach and apricot. Smooth and bright, this has finesse and class with real linearity and direction. I like the texture and mouthfeel - big enough to be quite a structured and round wine but with lightness and freshness too. This has real focus, perhaps not so layered and expressive at this point, but such an excellent drive of lemon and lime fruit and some bitter grapefruit edges too, that give spice and definition. Confident and poised. Great winemaking." - 95 points, Decanter

"This wine is ripe with layers of intense white fruits and a structure that will let it age.
The balance between fruit and wood aging is just right, giving a spicy edge and delicious acidity. Drink from 2024." - 95 points, Wine Enthusiast
