Due del Monte sits atop Mount Quarin in the rolling hills of Friuli, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. It is here that winemaker Miran Buzinel cultivates the ancient vines of the Collio, yielding exceptional results. Miran has traveled the world making wine, and most notably spent over 10 years at the prestigious Borgo del Tiglio working directly with trailblazer Nicola Manferrari as assistant winemaker. Since 2018, Miran has been putting down roots at Due del Monte, collaborating with his team to make tremendous wines of the region to share with the rest of the world. Benvenusa is thrilled to have the chance to import these wines into the U.S. for the first time.
Whole grapes crushing and soft pressing. Cold stabilization just by gravity. Separation free run juice and press juice. Fermentation in oak barrels where wine remains for about 10 months. After that the wines are assembled. Malolactic fermentation partly done. Gentle filtration at the time of bottling.
