L'Ecole No 41 - Walla Walla Valley 'Syrah - Seven Hills Vineyard' 2021

L’Ecole N° 41 is a third-generation family-owned, artisan winery located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on the label.  Founded in 1983, it was the third winery established in the Walla Walla Valley.  It has become one of the most prominent and visible Walla Walla Valley wineries with national and international distribution.

Washington State’s climate and soil is ideally suited to maximize the varietal characteristics of Syrah. Crafted from some of the earliest Walla Walla Valley Syrah plantings, this wine manifests old world attributes of earth and spice, in combination with the new world profile of bold, expressive fruit.

This beautifully balanced Estate Syrah marries savory aromas of olive tapenade and black pepper with floral notes of violet. The expansive palate shows intense flavors of blackberry, coffee, bitter chocolate, and a touch of spice paired with a fine tannin structure that gives way to a concentrated, rich finish.

"The 2021 Syrah Estate Seven Hills Vineyard entices with a nuanced blend of wild herbs, spiced citrus rinds, olives and earth tones. It’s soft textured and pliant, with a mineral tinge up front.
