Domaine d’Eugénie was founded in July 2006, when the Pinault family acquired the René Engel estate. Since 2009, the vat room and cellar have been located on Rue de la Goillote, in the center of the village of Vosne-Romanée, opposite Clos d’Eugénie.
The estate covers 7.9 hectares and 11 appellations in the communal villages of Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Flagey-Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Meursault. It offers us landscapes typical of the Côte-d’Or, with remarkable terroirs that are evocative of strong emotions
"80% whole bunch vinification with 5 new barrels out of 9. Fresh purple colour. The bouquet is amazingly exciting, intensely floral and with an amazing freshness to the fruit. I cannot remember a Brûlées like this on the nose. Follows through gorgeously on the palate, with several waves of fruit which are precise and sensual at the same time, without much of the white pepper behind. Too floral to be a single fruit. Racy, brilliant, the best Domaine d’Eugénie Brûlées yet." - 94-96 Points, Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy
"The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru includes 80% whole clusters (the highest ever), five of the nine barrels new. In the first tasting, the stem addition comes through strongly on the nose and just occludes some of the terroir profile. But during the second tasting, one month later, I found the stems definitely more enmeshed and there is an attractive potpourri element. The palate is quite fresh and peppery, but on both occasions, the stems are very tangible. Here, I might have just dialled down the whole bunch to say, 50%, but let's see how it matures in bottle." - 92-94 Points, Neal Martin Vinous
