Force Majeure is an premium winery located in the Walla Walla Valley, specializing in estate-grown, single-vineyard Bordeaux and Rhône-inspired wines. The wines are meticulously crafted by former Bryant Family Vineyard Winemaker, Todd Alexander. From its inception, Force Majeure has been defined by unwavering commitment to outstanding viticulture and exemplary winemaking. The original estate vineyard is in the famous Red Mountain AVA, while two new vineyard sites have been added over the past couple of years in the Walla Walla Valley.
Aging in 50% new barrels. A blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot comprises the 2020 Alluvio by Force Majeure. Sporting a medium to dark purple core with a neon purple rim in the glass, the wine bursts with aromas of sweet blackberry, dark cherry candy, sweet baking spices, dried mint, and scorched earth tones. The tannins are chalky and havent yet had time to integrate, but the lush acidity helps balance the chocolatey finish. Slightly tight and wound up now, so give this a year or two to settle down.
"What can be thought of as the second wine of the flagship Bordeaux releases, the 2021 Parabellum Alluvio is based on 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot. It reveals a ruby/plum hue as well as savory, complex notes of red and black fruits, spicy oak, wild sage, and scorched earth. Full-bodied, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, it brings beautiful fruit, lots of tannins, and outstanding length. It needs a decant if drinking any time soon and will ideally be given 2-4 years of bottle age. It will drink nicely through 2041." - 94 points, Jeb Dunnuck
