A family-owned winery in Illmitz, Austria, Kracher is renowned for sweet dessert wines. The vision of legendary winemaker Alois Kracher, Jr. is carried on by his family at their famous Wienlaubenhof winery by picturesque Lake Neusiedl. Kracher wines are in a class of their own; almost no other sweet wines have achieved the same worldwide recognition. Kracher also produces several remarkable dry white wines.

Trockenbeerenauslese is the highest in sugar content in the Prädikatswein category of the Austrian and German wine classification. Often called "TBA" for short, are made from individually selected grapes affected by noble rot.

This is viscous and fluid, rich and brooding, with echoes of molasses and maple syrup but something hauntingly peppery and hotly shimmering in the background.
