Brandlin Estate - Cuvée Mount Veeder 2021

$60.00
Planted as a mosaic of small vineyard blocks to accentuate the site’s diversity, Brandlin Estate includes 12 blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, featuring five different clones, small blocks of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, as well as the coveted old-vine Zinfandel planted by the Brandlin family in 1926.
In keeping with our commitment to the environment and our belief in preserving the beauty and vitality of our historic vineyard for generations to come, Brandlin Estate is certified sustainable, and the 120 acres of pristine native woodland that surround our vineyard have been preserved in their natural state.
The 2021 Estate Cuvée is a blend of four Bordeaux varieties, balancing the vibrant violets and lavender notes of Cabernet Franc with the rich, deeper tones of cocoa and mocha from our Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine allows the vineyard’s distinctive character to shine through every sip. The brighter fruit characters of the Cabernet Franc’s lively raspberry and persimmon intertwine seamlessly with the darker, sultry notes of blueberry and black currant from Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The ample, mouth-coating tannins pave the way for a lingering, ever-resolving finish.
“This powerful mountain red is impressively polished, imbued with the superfine and compact tannins so prevalent in the top Cabernet wines from 2021. They latch on to every corner of the palate, arresting it, but there's so much acid freshness in the wine that their resolution is quick, revealing a host of enticing mocha and fresh cocoa nib notes. Aromas and flavours of violets, blackcurrants, spiced plums, and bing cherry are laced with sweet tobacco, while fragrant, toasty cedarwood frames the entirety of this youthful and exuberant wine.” - 94 Points, Decanter
