Domaine Cazes Macabeu 2025

IN STOCK - 11 left in stock

Situated between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea in Rivesaltes, at the heart of Roussillon, Maison CAZES was established in 1895 by Michel Cazes. By the 1950s, the estate had expanded to 40 hectares, with the first Cazes bottles appearing in 1955.

As a historic reference for Roussillon wines, Maison Cazes has been practicing biodynamic and organic farming for the past 25 years. The estate is renowned for the quality of its sweet wines and exceptional wines from Roussillon's unique terroirs. Today, the vineyards span over 220 hectares, encompassing all of Roussillon’s diverse terroirs and producing outstanding wines each year.

Harvested by hand and destemmed, this orange wine is made in the style of a red, allowing the juice to macerate with skins and pips for 7 to 15 days to build ripe, supple tannins. Pressed and then aged in barrels for at least eight months, it develops both structure and complexity.

The nose opens with layered aromas of bergamot, tea wood, curry, orange peel, and cloves. On the palate, exotic notes of bitter orange and kumquat mingle with a full-bodied texture, leading to a lingering finish of dried fruit and popcorn. With its freshness, tannic grip, and touch of bitterness, this wine pairs beautifully with Asian cuisine or fish served with lightly spiced, grilled sauces.
