Michel Mallard and sons' vineyard is located in the commune of Ladoix-Serrigny, a small village at the junction between the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Vine growers from father to son for five generations, the vineyard has expanded over time and now cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards. Maryse and Patrick Mallard, at the head of this wine company, take care of this heritage in producing wines in Burgundy, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Chorey-les-Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne appellations.
Ageing is an essential step for achieving a quality wine. The Ladoix 1er Cru Les Gréchons is designed to be kept for many years, it is aged 15 months in 30% new wood casks (350-litre capacity).
This baby Corton Charlemagne is a house favorite. Can't recommended enough. Don't miss out on this one. Ladoix is one of the most underappreciated appellations in Burgundy and Michel Mallard is the best ambassador of his home town.
