Llopart - Corpinnat Brut Reserva 2023

The Llopart family were granted their family estate in 1385, making them one of the oldest growers in Penedès. They founded their company for the production of sparkling wines in 1887, making them the second oldest house for sparkling wine in Spain, and the oldest family-owned sparkling wine house in the country. They own 500 Ha of land, 95 of which are planted to organically certified vineyards. In 2017, Llopart became one of the six founding members of CORPINNAT, an new recognized classification for premium organically farmed sparkling wines from heart of Penedès. Llopart were pioneers in the production of Rosé sparkling wines and were one of the first producers to make rosé sparkling from exclusively red varieties.

Expression of the Llopart terroir, this Reserva Brut is made from the blend of the three indigenous grapes that are most representative of the estate. The blend is 30% Parellada, 40% Xarel·lo, 30% Macabeu.

Bright straw yellow. Fine and constant bubbles. Clean aroma with predominance of primary aromas of white fruits. A very versatile sparkling wine.

Methode champenoise. Hand harvested grapes are whole cluster pressed with very gentle levels of pressure. Base wines are vinified via spontaneous fermentation in small lots ranging from 1,000L to 5,000L to maintain segregration of the vineyard parcels in the cellar. Base wines are aged in tank sur lie for a short period of time before being racked to bottle. Secondary fermentation is carred out in the bottle. Final dosage is less than 6 g/L.

"The 2023 Brut Reserva was produced with a blend of 40% Xarel.lo, 30% Macabeo and 30% Parellada from organically farmed vineyards. It aged for at least 20 months with the lees in bottle. It comes in at 11.5% alcohol, with a pH of 2.95 and a dosage to complete eight grams of sugar. It's pale, bright and elegant, subtle, very young and undeveloped, not too sweet, approachable and pleasant. It's also serious, clean and harmonious, very drinkable. 37,000 bottles produced.
