Valdivieso is one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in Chile. Its history dates back to the year 1879 when Don Alberto Valdivieso founded Champagne Alberto Valdivieso S.A., the first producer of sparkling wines in Chile and South America. Since then, it has established itself as a leader in the category in the domestic and South American markets, and more recently, it has expanded its presence to Europe and Asia. After a century since its foundation, the winery modernized the production of still wines from its cellars in Santiago and Lontué, in the Curicó Valley. These wines have achieved international recognition and have become icons of consumption in different countries, with high-end products like Caballo Loco, and association brands such as Vigno.
“This fruit-focused red is a mix of vintages and Bordeaux varieties. It has an expressive nose, showing prominent oaky notes of wood spice and a core of berries. Pure black fruit flavors in the form of mulberries, blackberries and plums are lifted by good acidity and firm tannins.” - 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast
