The magic of Burgundy is more than just the wines. It's about the producers, whose focus is on how to make the best wine possible. In a top-of-the-line Domaine, everything is expertly made — from their Grand Crus down to their simple Bourgogne.
The Regional and Village wines are the entry-level wines in the Burgundy wine classification. Regional (Bourgogne) wines are at the lowest in the classification. These can be produced from grapes anywhere in Burgundy. They are easy to drink and are meant to be drunk young. On the other hand, Village wines - a step up, are wines named after the towns where the grapes come from. They are slightly more robust and complex than the Regional wines but also fresh, tasty with little-to-no oak.
