February 26th:
Red Burgundy - Côte de Nuits & Côte de Beaune with Peter Wasserman
At Vinonueva | 5145 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL, 33137 | 7:00 pm-8:30 pm
In partnership with Aspect Fine Wine
We’re excited to welcome our dear friend Peter Wasserman from Becky Wasserman & Co. back to the shop for an in-depth exploration of red Burgundy.
We always love having Peter with us. His knowledge, perspective, and deep relationships in Burgundy make these evenings both educational and memorable. This time, we’ll be diving into the Côte d’Or with a seated tasting featuring Premier Cru and Village-level wines, offering a comparative look at the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. It is here that some of the most celebrated expressions of Pinot Noir are grown.
Many factors influence what a wine ultimately becomes: soil composition, elevation, exposition, microclimate, and even subtle differences between neighboring vineyards. Nowhere are these nuances more evident than in Burgundy. Here, vineyards that sit side by side can produce wines of strikingly different character.
Burgundy delivers some of the finest wines in the world, driven by an almost obsessive quest for quality. This is not a region defined by power. It is defined by finesse. Understanding Burgundy takes time. The region’s layered organization — from regional to village to Premier Cru and Grand Cru — reflects centuries of observation and refinement.
Expect a thoughtful lineup and detailed discussion. Together, we’ll explore how terroir, structure, and style differ between the two regions.
We rarely host seated tastings. This format offers the opportunity to taste six wines side by side in an intimate setting. Space will be limited - only 10 seats available. We look forward to sharing another special evening with Peter and with all of you.
ABOUT BECKY WASSERMAN & CO
